Eric Dowdy’s practice is focused on business litigation, real property litigation, construction litigation and business transactions. Prior to joining Hajjar Peters in 2019, Eric worked for business law firms in Houston and Austin. During this time, Eric gained valuable litigation experience as an associate attorney handling cases through all phases of litigation. Eric has successfully represented his clients at mediation and obtained favorable jury verdicts as a first and second chair trial attorney.

Eric also counsels small and large business alike in general corporate matters. He has helped individuals pursue their dreams and guided them through the business formation and startup process. Eric has also helped those same clients protect their interests by drafting and negotiating buy-sell agreements, employment contracts, licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other contracts relevant to business operations.

Eric is a native Texan who was raised in McKinney, Texas. He lives in south Austin with his wife Mari Bryn and their rescue dog Pearl. Eric and his wife recently became scuba certified. Most weekends you’ll likely find them enjoying all of the outdoor activities the hill country has to offer or clad in burnt orange with their horns up.
